Shane Holland, DO, MS is excited to join the faculty as an assistant professor of OPP. Prior to his medical career, he taught history and social sciences. He graduated from UNT-HSC/TCOM in 2003 with both DO and MS degrees. Wanting more understanding of OMM/OPP, he completed a pre-doctoral fellowship and master’s degree in clinical education and research in the field of osteopathic principles and practice. Having taught prior to medical school, Dr. Holland most enjoyed teaching medical students and even some residents and faculty members.

Dr. Holland trained in family medicine in Kingsport, TN where he continued to teach both osteopathic and allopathic physicians. He learned to incorporate osteopathic principles into every patient encounter. During residency he began working in emergency medicine and now works full time in EM in Rogers, AR. He resigned as the emergency medicine director of his busy community hospital to be able to return to his first loves of teaching and osteopathic principles and practices.

Outside of work, Dr. Holland enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He has three amazing children who are all grown, now. Additionally, he is a cat lover and loves taking hikes, spending time with friends, church, and reading.
