Cost of Attendance
The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education establishes a Cost of Attendance (COA) budget for students annually and in accordance with regulations governing federal student aid programs. It is an estimated amount of student’s educational expenses for an enrollment period. The COA number is used to determine the maximum amount of financial aid (loans, scholarships, etc.) a student may receive for an award year.
Educational expenses include the actual costs for tuition and fees and an estimate for books, supplies, housing, food, health insurance, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. Educational expenses do not include non-allowable costs (consumer debt, spousal expenses, relocation expenses or vehicle purchase/lease).
Students should plan to cover expenses that are due before they receive their financial aid refunds! Students should consider out-of-pocket expenses, such as: books, supplies, relocation, deposits for housing and utilities, monthly payments, daycare, etc. First-time students have a one-time expense built into their COA budget for a laptop and Apple OS System device.
A Financial Aid Budget Worksheet is provided to assist you in evaluating your resources and planning for your expenses.
