Mark Stillwell, MD, FACP, grew up farming in southwest Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma. He then graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he was in Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed a residency and a chief residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, at the University of Maryland Medical Systems.

Dr. Stillwell is board certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. He has practiced medicine in Fort Smith and in Northwest Arkansas for 29 years. His interests include nosocomial/critical care infections, tick-borne illnesses, and the care of HIV-positive patients. He was previously an Assistant Professor at UAMS/Area Health Education Center and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Stillwell has past served as Chief of Staff and Head of Medical Subspecialties at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years and likes to hike, camp and fish. He and his wife, Judi, have two grown sons.
